Hazel Morgan - Therapist

Hi, my name is Hazel, and I love my job! I feel very privileged to be able to help people from all backgrounds and cultures with their mental health issues.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who decided to train to the highest level in my field. I am excited to be nearing completion of a doctorate in Counselling Psychology, which enables me to provide you with first-rate therapy.

I employ the existential approach, CBT, and psychoanalysis to help you achieve your therapeutic goals collaboratively.

I have worked across the charity, private and school sectors with those struggling with mild to severe mental health issues. I work with many issues, for example: trauma, abuse, neurodiversity, gender and sexuality issues, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain, relationship difficulties, anger, bullying, stress and major life changes.

Outside of the therapy room, I am a busy mum of two and finishing my thesis on the experience of cyberbullying. I enjoy gardening, travelling, cooking and spending time in nature.

Children 12 and over

With my extensive experience working with children aged 12 years and older, I am deeply committed to their well-being. I employ a child-centred approach to therapy, prioritizing the child’s individual needs and developmental stage while also considering the family and wider social context.

My objective is to enhance emotional well-being, foster healthy development, and promote improved functioning in the child's everyday life. This commitment ensures that my clients can feel reassured and confident in the therapy process.

Building a trustworthy bond with the child is essential. Therefore, I use art and play therapy to help establish a secure and encouraging atmosphere that allows the child to feel at ease sharing their thoughts and emotions.

Adults

Creating a welcoming and accepting atmosphere is a cornerstone of my practice. I am dedicated to ensuring your comfort, encouragement, and empowerment throughout our therapeutic journey.

This commitment to your well-being is what sets my services apart, making you feel comfortable and accepted from the moment you step into your therapeutic space.

Please note that I do not provide a crisis service. Please contact your GP or the Samaritans if you are in urgent need of help.

Dogs

A dog’s company can be very beneficial to the therapeutic experience. Therefore clients are most welcome to bring along their pet dog to the session at the Lifeways Centre.

Pictured is Pickle our Miniature Schnoodle puppy. She's a cross between a miniature Schnauzer and a miniature Poodle. She is turning one this year and we hope will one day join the team as a therapy dog.

Fees

50-minute sessions are £70. I offer a reduced rate for those impacted by the cost of living. Please enquire for more details.
